Marital Affair is for married and attached adults who want discreet company: a conversation that is theirs alone, a drink with someone who understands the situation, or something more if both of you want it. Most members are in the UK and the US, with smaller numbers in Australia, Canada, Ireland and South Africa. Everyone must be 18 or over, and the usual starting point is simply honesty with each other about what you are, and are not, looking for.
It is not for anyone trying to find out whether their own partner has a profile, to keep tabs on someone or to settle a score. It is not a place to sell or buy company. And if you are hoping a website can promise that nobody will ever find out, it can't; what married dating involves is worth reading first. What your bank statement and inbox will say
Your card statement shows the billing name displayed at checkout, so check it there before you pay; the amount and date appear whatever the name. Account emails, such as a password reset, go to whichever address you register with, so choose one you are comfortable receiving them at.
Your profile is seen by other members, and that includes people on partner sites in the same network, because profiles are shared across it. Every photo is reviewed, but what you choose to show is up to you: a photo that doesn't show your face, a first name only, no employer, no school-gate details. Look around for free; pay only when you want to talk
Joining, building a profile, browsing and receiving interest from other members cost nothing. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership. These are the current options:

The members area shows the exact price of each plan, and the billing name your card statement will show, before you pay. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing.
Every membership renews automatically until you cancel it, which you do in Settings > Billing. If you only want a short spell, put a reminder in your diary for the day before it renews. The prices page explains each option and the billing in plain terms, and cancelling or deleting your account takes a couple of minutes.

Before you start, be honest with yourself
An affair can feel like the only place you are seen. It can also cost a marriage, a home, time with children and friendships, and the person you meet has a life that may be just as complicated. None of that is a reason for us to lecture you, but it is a reason to be clear-eyed before you start.
Ask yourself what you actually want: company, intimacy, excitement, an exit? Would a frank conversation with your partner, or with a counsellor on your own, give you more of it? Questions to ask yourself first works through this without judgement, and getting support lists counselling for you alone or for you both. If you go ahead, agree boundaries early and know how you would end things with care.

How to tell a real conversation from a scam
Nobody checks what members write about themselves, so treat a new contact as a stranger until you have spoken properly. The warning signs are consistent: a rush to move the chat to another app, a sudden emergency that needs money, a refusal to talk on a call, or pressure to send intimate photos early. Never send money or gift cards to anyone you have met online, and if anyone threatens to share photos or messages unless you pay, stop replying, keep the evidence and report it.

The maritalaffair.com domain was registered on 6 April 2004, and the site has offered married dating since at least 2012. It was relaunched under new ownership in 2020 and is run today by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company. Member profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, which is why you may see, and hear from, people who joined elsewhere.
